Job Description

The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, assisting with financial research, maintaining internal controls, overseeing the inventory catalog, providing customer service as needed and collaborating with financial and executive leadership. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills and can maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the firm.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and account analysis
  • Assist with daily accounting functions
  • Reconcile and monitor collection accounts
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP)
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts
  • Monitor the record keeping system
  • Prepare daily credit card transactions
  • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of public accounting/finance experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to have

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proven energy/utility experience
