Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Plymouth, Minnesota. This is a Contract position within the manufacturing industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines
  • Analyze and process sales tax filings, maintaining accuracy and adherence to local and state requirements
  • Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial data integrity
  • Review and verify financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting data
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve accounting procedures and processes
  • Monitor and report on financial performance metrics to support decision-making
  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing
  • Solid understanding of sales tax regulations and processes
  • Proficiency in creating and managing journal entries
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and analysis tools
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure
