Job Description:

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Loan Staff Practice. As a full-time employee of Robert Half, you’ll work as a consultant providing accounting support to a dedicated client base. This role offers the stability of full-time employment with the variety of consulting assignments. You’ll support clients with core accounting functions while gaining experience across different industries.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Analyze variances and research discrepancies
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Help improve accounting processes and documentation at client sites

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, QuickBooks, etc.)

Nice to have:

  • CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA
  • Public accounting experience
  • Experience across multiple industries
  • Knowledge of SOX or internal controls
