Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Winter Park, Florida. This Contract to Hire position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to financial operations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in overseeing various accounting tasks and supporting the broader financial team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organize and manage daily mail sorting and routing to team members, ensuring timely distribution
  • Handle filing and scanning activities to maintain accurate and accessible records
  • Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and cash flow management processes
  • Process check runs, manage payment schedules, and ensure timely transactions
  • Prepare, process, and post wire transfers with accuracy
  • Generate and interpret financial reports to support decision-making
  • Reconcile daily cash activity, review positions, and provide reporting
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure accuracy
  • Participate in month-end close procedures, including reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger accounts
  • Post adjusting journal entries and contribute to audits by providing necessary financial documentation

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger operations
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
  • Experience with cash flow management and maintaining financial stability
  • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting
  • Ability to reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger balances accurately
  • Skilled in preparing adjusting journal entries and handling financial audits
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information
  • Capability to adapt to digital systems and contribute to tech-forward financial practices
