Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Woodbury, New York. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting practices and tax management. You will play a pivotal role in managing financial records and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries to support the organization’s financial reporting
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes with precision and efficiency
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by reviewing and analyzing general ledger accounts
  • Handle corporate and sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Support the preparation of corporate tax returns by gathering and organizing necessary financial data
  • Utilize NetSuite software to manage general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting accuracy
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure proper documentation and adherence to company policies
  • Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation as required
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure timely and accurate compliance

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a detail-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite for managing financial records and transactions
  • Strong knowledge of corporate and sales tax regulations and procedures
  • Experience with preparing corporate tax returns and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Solid understanding of journal entries and their role in financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
