We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations for hospitality properties in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing core accounting work with property-related administrative support and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate financial records, contribute to timely reporting, and respond effectively to the needs of internal stakeholders.
Job Responsibility
Oversee month-end accounting activities by preparing and reviewing financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
Manage property-related administrative documentation, including business correspondence, license applications and renewals, tax tracking, and other operational accounting support as needed
Provide coverage for fellow accounting team members during absences or periods of increased workload to maintain continuity across the department
Examine sales tax and accommodation tax filings for assigned properties to help ensure timely and accurate reporting
Record adjusting and routine journal entries within the accounting system while maintaining proper backup documentation
Handle general records management tasks such as organizing, scanning, copying, filing, and storing accounting documents in an orderly manner
Track bank account activity and assist with weekly accounts payable processing, including check runs and cash balance monitoring
Respond to information requests from property teams and related stakeholders by supplying clear, accurate, and timely financial support
Contribute to additional accounting and departmental projects assigned by leadership to support overall team effectiveness
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Solid understanding of accounting principles and standard financial processes
Prior experience in hospitality accounting is preferred
Working knowledge of property accounting practices
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining strong attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with properties and internal teams
