We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis in Wilsonville, Oregon. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting accounting processes related to grants and government-funded programs. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be essential in ensuring accurate financial documentation and reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Perform monthly and year-end account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Lead and support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of necessary journal entries and schedules
Prepare financial statements and reporting packages tailored for both internal leadership and external stakeholders
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper coding, posting, and documentation of transactions according to nonprofit compliance standards
Make ad hoc cash deposits and ensure timely and accurate recording in accordance with internal controls
Support the finance team and management with additional projects and initiatives as needed to enhance efficiency and transparency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Minimum 1-2 years of accounting experience
nonprofit experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
experience with general ledger modules preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to support cross-functional team collaboration
