The Staff Accountant supports the accounting department with both transactional and analytical tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, processing A/P and A/R, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and handling commissions and credit memos. The role also assists with financial statement preparation, year-end close, and ensures compliance with GAAP and company policies. Additionally, the Staff Accountant partners with management on reporting, budgeting, and process improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements
Process accounts payable international and domestic, accounts receivable, invoices, commissions, and credit memos
Prepare and record journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and balance bank statements
Support the accounting team with year-end close processes
Handle any administrative tasks as required by the accounting department
Research and resolve account discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial regulations
Prepare and record journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and ensure accurate reconciliations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Proven experience in accounting or in a similar role with a minimum of 6+ years
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
2+ years staff accounting work including: Journal Entries, General Ledger, ERP Systems like NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Sage Intacct
Nice to have:
Payroll Processing experience is a plus
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite & Acumatica) is a plus
Tax a plus- Corporate, Sales Tax, Corporate Tax Return
