Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in New Castle, Delaware. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who excels in corporate tax preparation and financial reporting. You will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate accounting processes and compliance with tax regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
Manage sales tax filings and address any related inquiries
Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Oversee the general ledger to ensure all accounts are balanced and properly documented
Assist with financial statement preparation, providing accurate and timely reports
Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Analyze financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies
Provide support during tax audits and regulatory reviews

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on corporate tax
Strong knowledge of corporate tax preparation and sales tax regulations
Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
Familiarity with financial statement preparation and reporting processes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
