Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Fort Collins, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone with at least 2 years of experience who can manage daily accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to timely month-end close processes. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of reconciliations, journal entry management, tax-related accounting tasks, and SAP within a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain the general ledger by analyzing account activity and resolving discrepancies that affect financial reporting
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations regularly to confirm balances and investigate variances promptly
  • Support month-end close activities by completing adjusting entries and validating supporting documentation
  • Assist with sales tax processes and contribute to corporate tax return preparation through accurate recordkeeping and reporting support
  • Use SAP to enter accounting data, monitor transactions, and help maintain the integrity of financial information
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather financial details, clarify account issues, and improve reporting accuracy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a staff accounting or similar accounting role
  • Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries, including adjusting and month-end entries
  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures
  • Experience completing bank account and cash reconciliations with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with sales tax support and exposure to corporate tax return processes
  • Proficiency with SAP and comfort working within an ERP-driven accounting environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
