Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. This role is ideal for an experienced individual who excels in corporate tax management, sales tax processes, and general ledger accounting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting functions.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Manage sales tax reporting and ensure timely submissions
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Record and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with team members to support audits and ensure compliance with financial standards
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting practices to ensure proper application
  • Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on corporate tax and financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax return preparation and sales tax processes
  • Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and performing reconciliations
  • Experience with journal entry preparation and review
  • Familiarity with applicable accounting regulations and tax laws
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
