Job Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to fill a long-term contract position at a growing Construction company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will participate in compliance including quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. Job Responsibility

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
  • Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of Staff Accountant experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proven knowledge of ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
  • All candidates must undergo drug and background screening for consideration
