Job Description:

The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation and grow within a finance team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet accounts)
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3+ years of accounting experience (internship or public accounting a plus)
  • Basic understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas)
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice to have:

  • Public accounting or industry experience
  • ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.)
  • CPA or CPA-eligible
  • Experience in manufacturing, nonprofit, or service-based environments
