Job Description:

Our client, in the financial industry, is in need for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract basis for 3-6 months, with a potential to extend! This is located in North Tucson, in Oro Valley, and this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and values service, excellence, and integrity. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Manage the accounts payable process, including handling approximately 200 invoices per week
  • Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and record journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial data
  • Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
  • Processing Accounts Payable invoices - about 100 invoices weekly
  • Collaborate with team members to address sensitive situations and maintain a positive work environment
  • Contribute to a strong team culture that values community involvement and teamwork

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including general ledger and account reconciliation
  • Proficiency in managing accounts payable processes and handling high volumes of invoices
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax regulations
  • Experience with journal entries and month-end close procedures
  • Familiarity with bank account reconciliations and balance sheet account management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a focus on collaboration and communication
