Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Staff Accountant to join our clients finance team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Process, review, and code vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments
oversee employee expense reports to confirm compliance with company policies and resolve any discrepancies
assist in preparing and submitting state compliance reports, tax returns, and supporting audit activities
conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
calculate and process commissions for sales teams, ensuring accuracy and timely payouts
record and reconcile daily cash and check receipts with bank deposits and accounting records
collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address payment and financial discrepancies
maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and ensure adherence to company policies
prepare clear documentation and detailed explanations for audit purposes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
equivalent experience will also be considered
minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with expertise in accounts payable and reconciliations
proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to resolve financial discrepancies
ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams
proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
