Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Staff Accountant to join our clients finance team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process, review, and code vendor invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • oversee employee expense reports to confirm compliance with company policies and resolve any discrepancies
  • assist in preparing and submitting state compliance reports, tax returns, and supporting audit activities
  • conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • calculate and process commissions for sales teams, ensuring accuracy and timely payouts
  • record and reconcile daily cash and check receipts with bank deposits and accounting records
  • collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address payment and financial discrepancies
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and ensure adherence to company policies
  • prepare clear documentation and detailed explanations for audit purposes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • equivalent experience will also be considered
  • minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with expertise in accounts payable and reconciliations
  • proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
  • strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
  • exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to resolve financial discrepancies
  • ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams
  • proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
