Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger management, accounts payable processing, and financial reconciliations. The ideal candidate will contribute to ensuring the accuracy of financial records and support audit activities while identifying opportunities to streamline processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries, including those related to fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and accruals
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and make adjustments as needed
  • Process and verify accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and payment accuracy
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical financial records, adhering to organizational policies
  • Support audit preparation by creating schedules, performing reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Monitor and validate monthly banking activity, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
  • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Assist with special financial projects and other tasks as assigned by the Controller

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger systems like QuickBooks or similar software
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Experience in accounts payable processing, including invoice coding and payment management
  • Ability to analyze financial discrepancies and resolve them effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate financial records
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
