Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Cicero, Illinois. This is a contract position offering a long-term opportunity to work in the financial services industry. Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns with accuracy and compliance
  • Manage sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions
  • Record and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
  • Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure consistency
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support accounting processes and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management
  • Maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations and industry standards
  • Provide support during audits by compiling necessary documentation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related roles
  • Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax management
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
