Job Responsibility:
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus): Manage full-cycle AP process including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and weekly payment runs
Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies proactively
Support implementation of scalable AP processes, controls, and automation
Accounts Receivable: Assist with invoicing and cash application
Monitor aging and partner with internal teams to address outstanding balances
Support collections efforts while maintaining strong customer relationships
Job Costing & Inventory: Track and analyze job costing for manufacturing projects
Partner with operations to ensure accurate cost allocation (materials, labor, overhead)
Assist in inventory tracking, reconciliations, and periodic counts
Identify cost trends and variances to support business decisions
General Accounting (Core Staff Accountant Duties): Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, allocations)
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
Assist in month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting
Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
Analyze variances and provide insights on financial performance
Compliance, Controls & Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
Assist with audit support (external and internal) including PBC schedules
Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and reduce risk
Requirements:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or government experience preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with accounts payable and general ledger accounting
Exposure to job costing, inventory accounting, or cost accounting highly preferred
Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is a plus
