Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in North Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will manage financial tracking and reporting for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled accountant with a passion for organization and a strong understanding of financial systems to make an impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Track and maintain accurate job costs for various construction projects, ensuring proper allocation of expenses
  • Analyze project budgets and actual expenditures to provide insights into margins and cost variances
  • Prepare and manage financial schedules for projects, supporting monthly close activities in construction accounting
  • Detect and address discrepancies in financial data before they escalate into larger issues
  • Update and maintain project financial records in the Acumatica system, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness
  • Identify opportunities to improve organization and efficiency within financial systems and processes
  • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial clarity and insights, supporting effective decision-making
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and cost records for all projects
  • Facilitate smooth financial processes to support project operations effectively

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in corporate tax, including preparation and analysis of tax returns
  • Knowledge and experience in managing sales tax compliance
  • Strong skills in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
  • Familiarity with construction accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with financial systems, particularly Acumatica, is preferred
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders
