Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and offers the opportunity to work on a variety of accounting functions, including tax preparation and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a passion for ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
manage sales tax filings and payments, keeping accurate records for reporting purposes
record and review journal entries to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and resolve any discrepancies
utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct, to process transactions and generate reports
assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial statements
conduct regular reviews of financial data to identify trends, errors, or opportunities for improvement
collaborate with team members to support audits and respond to inquiries from external stakeholders

Requirements:

Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns
strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements
proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy
familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage Intacct
detail-oriented with the ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
solid understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes
excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
