Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented part time Staff Accountant for our client in Harahan, Louisiana. This short-term contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a proactive approach to financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices and payments
Perform detailed bank reconciliations to maintain alignment between financial records and account balances
Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and ensuring proper classification of transactions
Assist in month-end close activities, including preparing financial reports and reconciling accounts
Utilize QuickBooks to accurately track financial transactions and produce necessary documentation
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions to ensure accurate reporting
Collaborate with team members to support audits and compliance requirements
Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes for greater efficiency

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Familiarity with journal entries and month-end close procedures
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in accounting contexts
Effective communication skills for collaboration within a team
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
