Staff Accountant

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and oversee month-end closing procedures
• Track project expenses, allocate costs, and analyze job profitability to support job costing activities
• Generate and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain timely and accurate payment cycles
• Update and maintain accounting records, ensuring all financial documentation is organized and accessible
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve discrepancies while improving accounting workflows
• Utilize Sage software to manage accounting transactions, create reports, and oversee project-related financials
• Support annual audits and budget preparation, contributing to various ad hoc accounting projects as needed

• Proficiency in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns
• Strong experience with journal entries and general ledger management
• Demonstrated ability to handle job costing and related project expense tracking
• Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Sage
• Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal control standards
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Prior experience in a manufacturing or similar industry is a plus
