We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks, including tax preparation, expense processing, and financial reporting. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and file state tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
Collaborate with external accounting firms to manage and oversee tax-related projects
Process and approve employee expense statements in a timely and efficient manner
Conduct credit reference checks for potential new customers
Assist with month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations, budget preparation, and financial analysis
Handle statutory reporting requirements for the company's truck fleet
Manage weekly accounts payable processing in coordination with the accounts payable team
Cross-train with team members to provide backup support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and material receiving functions
Support the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with special projects as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting functions
Strong knowledge of corporate and sales tax processes, including corporate tax return preparation
Proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft Office and Datacor
Familiarity with general ledger and journal entry processes
Manufacturing industry experience is preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail
