Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented part-time Staff Accountant to join a team in Appleton, Wisconsin. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment while handling key accounting functions. This position offers direct engagement with leadership and the ability to drive meaningful improvements within the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Support routine financial close activities by preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, asset, and other balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy
  • Monitor inventory processes and assist with tracking materials and finished products
  • Analyze financial and operational costs, identify variances, and provide insights to inform business decisions
  • Assist with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes to help support organizational planning
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to streamline and improve financial workflows
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports to monitor company performance
  • Assist with payroll administration and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in accounting software and common business applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Skilled at working with large sets of data with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to consistently meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Experienced in managing general ledger activities, posting journal entries, and preparing financial statements
  • Knowledgeable about budgeting, forecasting, and inventory-related processes.
