Job Description:

We are looking for a part-time detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Charleston, South Carolina for roughly 10-15 hours/week. This role involves handling critical accounting functions, including payroll processing, expense reconciliation, and customer invoicing. The position is expected to last through January, with the potential for extension.

Job Responsibility:

Process bi-monthly payroll accurately and efficiently using Paylocity
Manage and reconcile employee expense reports by accessing Truist card accounts
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly organizational financial tasks
Create and issue invoices for customer orders while maintaining precision in records
Oversee the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns
Handle sales tax calculations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger with a focus on accuracy
Collaborate with team members to address and resolve accounting discrepancies
Utilize Sage 50 for accounting tasks and system management

Requirements:

Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and return filing
Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in managing payroll systems, especially Paylocity
Familiarity with Sage 50 accounting software
Expertise in handling journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy
Ability to manage expense reports and reconcile accounts effectively
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial management
Excellent organizational and communication skills
