Staff Accountant

• Prepare and post journal entries, taking full ownership of this critical accounting function
• Execute month-end close activities, adhering to established schedules and deadlines
• Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly
• Monitor bank activity, create supporting schedules, and ensure accurate month-end reporting
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and cash applications
• Review bank deposits, apply cash receipts, and assist with collections and invoicing workflows
• Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and maintain robust internal controls
• Contribute to special accounting projects and tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Staff Accounting, with a focus on month-end close processes
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and managing general ledger accounting
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in moderate-volume environments
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to take initiative, own key responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines
• Experience with accounting software such as Financial Edge or Blackbaud is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle complex accounting tasks
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
