Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Irving, Texas. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their accounting knowledge while growing their skills in a dynamic and evolving environment. As a key member of the accounting department, you will contribute to various financial processes and support the team in maintaining accurate records.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Reconcile accounts and perform month-end close activities to maintain accurate financial records
Assist with sales tax and state tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
Support the preparation of financial statements by gathering and analyzing relevant data
Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks, including transaction recording and reporting
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data integrity
Use Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze and organize financial data
Collaborate with the Controller to streamline accounting processes and improve departmental efficiency
Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies as the organization grows
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the accounting team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, including knowledge of debits, credits, journal entries, and general ledger
Basic knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a desire to grow into a Senior Accountant role
Ability to adapt to a fluid and evolving work environment

Nice to have:

Familiarity with reconciliation processes, sales tax, and state tax is preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks is a strong advantage
