We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, excels in managing financial processes, and ensures accuracy in accounting records. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting essential accounting functions.
Job Responsibility:
Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and accurate
Prepare and post journal entries as part of routine accounting operations
Assist with month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline processes
Conduct analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Provide support for audits and other financial reporting requirements
Continuously review and improve accounting processes for efficiency
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management
Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close procedures
Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
