We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This role is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of our organization by ensuring accurate accounting and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit fund accounting and a commitment to delivering precise financial reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Record and manage journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support seamless accounting operations
Oversee fund accounting processes specific to non-profit organizations, ensuring proper allocation and reporting
Collaborate with team members to create and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
Conduct periodic audits to verify the accuracy of financial data and adherence to accounting policies
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring to ensure financial goals are met
Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly and effectively
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance
Provide support during annual audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
Requirements:
Proven experience in corporate tax return preparation and compliance
Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining financial records
Strong understanding of general ledger management and reconciliation
Demonstrated expertise in fund accounting within a non-profit setting
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data for reporting purposes
Familiarity with accounting software and tools commonly used in non-profit organizations
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
