We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support our client's team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Job Responsibility:

  • Manage month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
  • Assist in creating financial reports and schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of internal control policies to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during year-end audits and tax preparation processes
  • Contribute to the international consolidation of financial statements
  • Prepare and complete various tax filings, including income, sales, and property taxes
  • Develop tax provision schedules for both domestic and international entities
  • Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to enhance financial processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting procedures
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address financial matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger processes
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial statements and budgets
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel
  • Familiarity with corporate tax regulations and filings
  • Effective collaboration skills to work across departments and with external partners
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
