We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in El Cajon, California. This role requires a proactive individual who excels in managing financial operations, driving efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards. You will play a key role in overseeing accounting processes across multiple entities, supporting strategic business planning, and maintaining rigorous internal controls.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee cash management processes, including petty cash, expense management, rent roll reviews, accounts payable, and approval workflows
Manage accounting operations for various entities, including intercompany allocations and inventory tracking for home sales and renovations
Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, cost accounting, and project accounting to support business growth and decision-making
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting teams, including offshore staff, while providing leadership and guidance
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, maintain internal controls, and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
Prepare and review corporate tax returns and sales tax filings, ensuring accurate and timely submissions
Record and reconcile journal entries in adherence to established accounting standards
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and workflows
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
Proficiency in corporate tax, including preparation and filing of tax returns
Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance
Experience with journal entries and general ledger management
Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and cost accounting
Ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams
