We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Madeira Beach, Florida. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes for a construction company specializing in custom home builds. Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed journal entries and maintain the general ledger to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date
Reconcile accounts regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
Oversee progress billing and handle coding activities across multiple rental properties
Manage and maintain five sets of books for various projects and transactions
Review and approve payment processes, ensuring allowances and budgets are verified before disbursement
Utilize Builder Trends and Excel to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting procedures and enhance operational effectiveness
Conduct bookkeeping for rental properties and ensure compliance with financial standards
Handle diverse financing methods for projects, including bank financing and cash transactions
Support accounts payable processes and assist in ensuring proper documentation and approvals

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in journal entries and general ledger management
Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software, including Builder Trends
Ability to perform account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy
Familiarity with progress billing procedures and coding activities
Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices for rental properties
Proficiency in Excel, including basic import/export functions
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to adapt to varied financial processes and project-specific requirements
