Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. This short-term contract to permanent position offers a dynamic opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will excel in corporate tax processes, journal entries, and general ledger management while demonstrating proficiency in accounting software solutions.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
Manage sales tax reporting and filing processes accurately and on time
Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain precise financial records
Oversee general ledger activities, including month-end and year-end closing procedures
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Sage 100 to perform daily tasks efficiently
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting workflows and optimize processes
Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Support audits by providing accurate and organized documentation
Contribute to financial reporting and analysis for informed decision-making

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
Strong knowledge of corporate tax procedures and regulations
Expertise in managing sales tax and corporate tax returns
Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Sage 100
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
