Job Description:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Stanwood, Washington. This role is ideal for a skilled accountant with strong experience in journal entries, general ledger management, and financial reconciliation. You will play a key part in supporting our accounting operations and preparing for upcoming audits.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy to ensure financial records are up-to-date
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to support audit preparation
  • Review and improve existing workflows for accounts payable processes
  • Analyze and update outdated spreadsheets to enhance financial reporting efficiency
  • Assist in uploading trial balance data and preparing necessary documentation for auditors
  • Collaborate with the team to identify improvements in fixed asset tracking and reporting
  • Utilize software tools such as QuickBooks Online and Syft dashboards to streamline reporting
  • Work with the Controller and other team members to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks
  • Implement data importing processes and provide recommendations for better spreadsheet organization
  • Follow business casual standards and maintain effective communication within the team

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including journal entries and general ledger management
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with reporting tools such as Syft dashboards
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and improve spreadsheet workflows
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset management and account reconciliation processes
  • Ability to take direction and work independently to complete tasks efficiently
  • Experience with accounts payable workflows and financial data importing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and auditors
