We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations for a team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, processing key transactions, and supporting payroll, tax, and billing activities. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, a high level of organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Process payments and maintain accurate accounts payable records to support timely transactions
Prepare invoices and billing documents, ensuring all supporting information is complete and accurate
Record incoming payments and reconcile receipts to the appropriate accounts
Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to verify financial activity and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and file required payroll tax reports in compliance with deadlines
Review transactions for appropriate tax treatment and maintain supporting documentation
Support payroll administration, including time entry, reimbursements, and related reporting
Set up and update vendor and customer records while maintaining organized documentation
Generate reports and provide general administrative and operational support, including assistance with special projects
Requirements
Experience supporting core accounting functions, including payables, receivables, and general ledger activity
Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
Familiarity with payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, and related compliance requirements
Understanding of transaction tax application and maintenance of supporting documentation
Ability to manage detailed transactional work with accuracy and strong organizational skills
Proficiency in preparing billing documentation, recording receipts, and maintaining accurate records
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members on shared priorities
