Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Carlsbad, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a keen attention to detail.

Job Responsibility

  • Review and accurately code contracts, payments, and receipts while ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place
  • Prepare and analyze adjusting journal entries as part of the General Ledger review process
  • Maintain detailed schedules for financial reporting, including depreciation, amortization, committed cost budgets, and deferred revenue
  • Conduct thorough reviews of trial balances and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
  • Support quarterly financial reporting by generating cost analysis and straight-line rent schedules
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal processes
  • Manage full-cycle accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial reporting processes and accuracy

Requirements

  • Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control procedures
  • Proficiency in reviewing contracts, payments, and receipts for accuracy
  • Ability to prepare and analyze adjusting journal entries and financial schedules
  • Experience in conducting bank reconciliations and trial balance reviews
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
