We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and manage corporate tax returns and sales tax filings in compliance with local and federal regulations
Perform detailed journal entries and maintain accurate records within the general ledger
Assist with audits, including preparing documentation and supporting the audit process
Contribute to the implementation and optimization of Sage Intacct, ensuring seamless integration with current systems
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Collaborate with internal teams to support accounting processes and ensure adherence to organizational policies
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing financial transactions
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely reporting
Research and apply applicable tax laws to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting workflows and efficiencies
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a public accounting or non-profit setting
Familiarity with corporate and sales tax regulations and processes
Proficient in using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and journal entries
Experience with audit processes, including preparation and documentation
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about accounting workflows
Efficient and eager to learn, with the ability to adapt to high-pressure situations
Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits
