Robert Half Finance is seeking a Staff Accountant for a reputable client in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role will focus on maintaining the general ledger and supporting the month-end close process, while also providing assistance to accounts payable and receivable functions as needed. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and reconcile the general ledger, including the preparation and posting of journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing schedules and analyses
Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Assist in the creation of financial statements and internal management reports to align with organizational standards
Work collaboratively with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure smooth and accurate transaction processing
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual transactions by recommending appropriate solutions
Prepare documentation and schedules for audits while addressing auditor inquiries
Aid in budgeting and forecasting processes to support organizational financial planning
Ensure all accounting practices comply with internal policies and relevant regulations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of comprehensive accounting experience as a Staff Accountant
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems
Experience within the manufacturing industry
Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and general accounting principles
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to enhance processes and improve efficiency
Skilled in managing journal entries and maintaining accurate general ledger records
