Robert Half is looking for a detail-driven Staff Accountant to join a team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this contract Staff Accountant role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Job Responsibility:
Maintain and update the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data
Prepare and deliver financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Conduct thorough reconciliations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, and credit card statements
Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice management, payment processing, and follow-ups on overdue accounts
Assist with audit preparations by providing necessary documentation, reconciliations, and detailed reports to internal and external auditors
Ensure compliance with tax regulations by supporting year-end tax preparation and related filings
Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Identify and propose improvements to accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Handle additional tasks and special projects assigned by the Accounting Manager or Controller as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with experience in Sage Intacct preferred
Strong understanding of corporate tax processes, including sales tax and corporate tax returns
Expertise in journal entries and general ledger maintenance
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate financial reports
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
