Job Description:

Break Into Private Equity Accounting — Staff Accountant Opportunity ($110–125K). Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half is partnering with a San Francisco-based asset manager overseeing $4B+ across private equity and credit strategies. This is a high-impact Staff Accountant role where you’ll gain direct exposure to fund economics, carry structures, and the full lifecycle of investments—ideal for someone ready to level up within a top-tier investment environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle accounting across GP entities, carried interest, and the management company
  • Support general ledger close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Assist with partnership allocations, capital activity, and fund operations
  • Contribute to budgeting and expense tracking for the management company
  • Partner cross-functionally with investment, operations, and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or similar (CPA a plus)
  • 3–7+ years in private equity, fund accounting, or public accounting with fund clients
  • Experience with partnership accounting, GP allocations, and carry mechanics
  • Familiarity with fund structures (LP/GP entities, carry vehicles, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • exposure to systems like Allvue is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to waterfall calculations and distribution modeling
  • Understanding of capital accounts, tax allocations, and LP agreements
  • Clear communicator who can collaborate across teams
