We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Monterey, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Job Responsibility:
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports to support organizational decision-making
Collaborate with management to assist in financial planning and budgeting processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable activities to ensure smooth operations
Perform general ledger maintenance, including recording debits and credits
Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
Complete bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records
Analyze financial data to assist with strategic recommendations
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Maintain compliance with accounting regulations and company policies
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field
Proficiency in general accounting practices, including debits and credits
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and account reconciliation
Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with accounting software and tools
Strong communication skills to collaborate with management and other teams
