Job Description

Currently looking for an Accountant. The right candidate will perform various accounting, finance functions with supervision from the Director of Land Acquisition Accounting.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Land Accounting Managers in the execution of their responsibilities including division interaction, internal financial reporting, reading and interpreting land contracts, assisting in the evaluation of land purchases transactions, analyzing and preparing financial reports, preparing funding requests or reports to summarize contract details and financial data, reviewing all types of reports to ensure accuracy, assisting with process improvements, managing and updating various tracking tools/databases
  • Use various tools for transactional processing inclusive of JDE (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Internet and Outlook)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance
  • 1+ yrs. accounting knowledge
  • Financial reporting experience
  • Experience with preparing, posting and correcting journal entries
  • Basic knowledge of banking operations
  • Experience with wire transfers
  • Ability to analyze transactions and resolve outages
  • Confident in the ability to review and analyze financial proformas
  • Excel spreadsheet skills (pivot tables & Vlookups)
  • Ability to review contracts and identify and interpret key contractual information
  • Evaluate and report the financial impact of land contracts
  • Well-developed customer service skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management
  • Strong verbal and written skills
