We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Sedro Woolley, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing grant accounting, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, and preparing various financial reports. This position is integral to maintaining accuracy and transparency in our financial processes while upholding organizational and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee grant accounting processes, including cost reviews and analyses to ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines
Prepare quarterly and monthly financial reports, such as SF-425s and budget summaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor and enforce adherence to procurement requirements under Uniform Guidance regulations
Utilize AccuFund or similar governmental fund accounting systems to manage financial data
Collaborate with the finance team to resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure smooth operations
Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and other regulatory requirements
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and uphold high standards of integrity
Assist in implementing best practices for grant and contract financial management
Provide support in resolving work-related conflicts within the accounting department
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree with seven years of comparable experience
Proficiency in grant accounting and familiarity with government grant financial requirements
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GASB, and GAAS standards
Experience with accounting software, preferably AccuFund or similar systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Valid and unrestricted Washington State Driver’s License, with insurability under organizational policies
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sign a non-disclosure agreement
