We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in El Cajon, California. This role requires a well-rounded detail-oriented individual with expertise in accounting practices and financial management, capable of overseeing complex processes across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor and manage cash flow, including petty cash, expense tracking, and rent roll reviews
Process accounts payable transactions and ensure adherence to approval metrics and control standards
Handle accounting operations for multiple entities, including intercompany allocations and inventory accounting for property renovations and sales
Lead budgeting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and project accounting initiatives to support strategic decision-making
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, with a focus on guiding offshore teams
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering collaboration and detail-oriented growth
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and maintain internal controls to safeguard sensitive financial information
Prepare accurate journal entries and maintain the general ledger to reflect financial activities
Conduct corporate and sales tax calculations and filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management
Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings
Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance
Expertise in corporate tax processes and compliance requirements
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple entities and intercompany allocations
Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cost accounting
Skilled in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
