Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Ronkonkoma, New York. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting month-end close activities.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare detailed journal entries and reconcile key accounts, including cash, payroll, and prepaid expenses
Generate monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses to support management reporting
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial close workbooks
Maintain and update the fixed asset ledger, ensuring accurate depreciation calculations and reconciliations
Conduct thorough reconciliations of balance sheet accounts during month-end close
Execute month-end close procedures and journal entries with minimal supervision
Manage recurring journal entries and ensure accurate reconciliations

Requirements:

Proven experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close activities
Solid understanding of financial reporting and account reconciliation processes
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
