Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Staff Accountant to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. This position is contract with the possibility of becoming permanent and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations while collaborating across departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and month-end processes, along with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage accounts payable processes, including conducting three-way matching and working closely with inventory, purchasing, and warehouse teams
  • Assist with banking activities, such as wire transfers and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with warehouse managers to ensure accurate inventory reconciliation
  • Facilitate onboarding for new vendors and maintain vendor accounts
  • Perform month-end tasks, including journal entries and preparing financial reports
  • Support internal audit activities by providing necessary documentation and insights
  • Cross-train with team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of various accounting functions
  • Utilize general ledger systems effectively to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Address and resolve discrepancies with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Contribute to improving workflows and processes while adapting to changes in operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience with journal entries, general ledger management, and accounts payable
  • Proficiency in general ledger systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and account reconciliation
  • Strong understanding of banking activities, including wire transfers and bank reconciliations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with inventory, purchasing, and warehouse teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative to tackle challenges independently
  • Flexibility to work with evolving processes and adapt to changes effectively

Nice to have

Experience with QuickBooks and knowledge of cost accounting, distribution, or manufacturing
