A well-established organization in Los Angeles County is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Under general direction, the Staff Accountant will support daily accounting functions, assist with financial reporting, and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies
Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules
Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Support internal and external audit requests
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities when needed
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Requirements:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
2–4 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, or financial reporting
