Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Ladson, South Carolina. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for growth and skill development. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounting functions and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage sales tax filings and address any related issues or discrepancies
Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented
Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and financial reporting requirements
Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance
Provide support for special projects and initiatives as assigned

Requirements:

Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance
Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes
Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger functions
Familiarity with corporate tax returns and related documentation
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
