We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Lewisville, Texas. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing costs, managing inventory, and supporting financial operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze and track costs associated with business activities, including raw material purchases, labor expenses, benefits, and factory overhead
Maintain and manage data related to the import supply chain, accounting for container costs, fees, and handling charges
Assess the impact of changes in product design, materials, and manufacturing methods on costs, and update item costs accordingly
Collect and report on direct labor and product development labor data for management review
Prepare detailed reports for management, outlining factors influencing product pricing and profitability
Support month-end and year-end closing processes for the General Ledger
Oversee physical inventory counts and monitor the cycle count program to ensure accuracy
Reconcile inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements:
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing General Ledger activities
Strong background in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment
Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes
Familiarity with inventory management, including physical counts and reconciliation
Analytical skills to evaluate pricing, profitability, and cost changes
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
