We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to join our client's team in the Bridgeville, Pennsylvania area. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, system proficiency, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Job Responsibility:
Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, including managing disbursements and cash receipts
Handle payroll processing and perform analyses, including reconciling payroll cash and benefits accounts
Prepare and file business taxes, analyze prepaid and accrued tax accounts, and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Support senior accounting staff and managers by assisting with financial reporting and other accounting tasks
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements
Conduct audits of inventory and fixed assets to maintain proper accounting records
Utilize accounting systems to organize and analyze financial data effectively
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and resolve accounting discrepancies
Assist in preparing profit and loss statements and other financial reports for management review
Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required
At least 2-3 years of experience in an accounting department within a large corporation or audit department of a public accounting firm
Proficiency in accounting systems and ability to organize and analyze financial data
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger accounting
Ability to work on-site in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, five days a week (Monday through Friday).
